(no subject)
I was going to jump into the fray over the Canadian election results on someone else's journal, but (being Canadian) I then thought ah...what the heck. I'll post on my journal, no one reads it anyway.
My, everyone seems very anxious to define their pigeonhole..?
I find it less easy to nail down where I stand, but I for one am happy that the PC's got the majority (surprised, but happy). My email to Harper to remind him to dismantle the gun registry is already on the way.
Hopefully the next 4 years will be less about calling each other names and more about governing the country and moving ahead. The Liberals will be a non-issue for some time, and the Dippers are already happily shooting themselves in both feet as fast as they can....they'll be back to their usual half dozen seats at the next election.
Do I like Harper? Or even trust him? Not on your life. But he's a tough, competent manager...which is what we need to steer us through the weeds for awhile. He's got the personality of an unopened box of Kleenex...but I kind of like that as opposed to Iggy's snottiness and Jack's fake used car salesman smarm and "promise the world as long as you don't have to deliver" attitute.
In the end, the taxpayer just keeps paying... no matter who gets in.
