Oh man.
Just about had to change my underwear.
Sitting at the computer a few minutes ago, and the coyotes bust loose....sound like they're right at the door. I grabbed the spotlight and opened the front door, shone it at the trees at the side of the yard....and silence. But so many shining green eyes it looked like a firefly convention.
I've said many times how much I love the sound...but sometimes they can just be too close. Didn't run off, either....just stood there in the dark, waiting to see what I'd do.
Had to fix the pigeon coop tonight, I think they've been trying to get in.
The snow's getting deep again...they took a deer a few weeks back, found the remains in the front field. With the snow so deep, the deer can't run, good news for the yotes. Bad news for drivers, the deer spend as much time as possible on the roads, where they can still run.
With the dogs away, the tracks I see in the new snow every day are amazing. Deer, yotes, coming right up to the house. Moose too. Lots...tons...of bunny tracks. The ruffed grouse are in the yard feeding on dried berries every night when I get home. The woods are closing back in, with no one here most of the time to keep the inhabitants away. :)
