Animal encounters have ramped up some over the last week or so...seems to be the Time of the Owls. Great Horned owls that fly ahead of my truck and land in the road repeatedly, Short-Eared owls that dive bomb and hover over me with disapproving looks.
Also raptors...hawks and Golden eagles galore line the roadsides on fenceposts and power poles.
Coyotes of all ages and sizes...they're everywhere.
I almost pity the mouse population. The ones that aren't in my house, anyway.
I'm scanning the yards every night in anticipation of the fall porky invasion...the apples are down, and they'll be coming soon.
No angry moose yet.
