all religion is metaphor trying to communicate a central core of information and experience the best way possible to each specific culture in it's own time.
how can it possibly be blasphemy to acknowledge the divine, the god essence, the piece of eternity that is within each and every one of us? if god created the world and everything in it, then we are a part of god's creation which is a part of him because he made it. that makes god a part of nature and nature a part of god. we are part of and in fact are god, because god and us is the same idea.
this does not lead to a passive view of life. all life is suffering is the first part of buddhism. all life is suffering because it falls short of the glory of god is the first part of christianity. all life is suffering because life itself, existence, necessitates a duality: life and death, is and is not, with god and without god. conflict between opposing forces is the very essence of life, the experience of life. the quality of transcendence is the realization that those two forces are both expressions of unity, transcendence, buddha consciousness, heaven. all things, good and bad, are expressions of god. this leads to the view that war is a manifestation of god, and it is in the sense that conflicts arise because of god. once we realize this, that we are a part of god as are our opponents, that we are just two extensions of the same whole, then we see that it is pointless to fight. we are brothers, sisters, the same. why should we fight when we are all a part of god? i read that as acknowledging that conflicts occur, it doesn't matter why they happen they just do, but when we realize that there is a conflict, see it for what it is, and drop it.
true transcendence is a union of all things within yourself. there is no external god, no outer heaven or existence. being open to transcendence shows that all things, your life and death, experience and void, are all the same. all time and space is unified into a singularity which compromises everything that ever was, is, or will be.
