adventures in table top RPGs
so i know this makes me a huge nerd, but i had way too much fun to not mention it. i went over to my friend sterling's house tonight and 7 of us played a table top version of GTA4. we're basically a bunch of irish and immigrant kids that grew up in the bad part of town, and we band together to reclaim our neighborhood and eventually the city from rival gangs and syndicates. tonight we decided to try and corner the market on prostitution. if we run the majority of the prostitution rings in a given area we're considered dominant so not only do we get the cash flow but we earn respect among area gangs. so we drove over to this brothel that had 25 hookers working there and took it over. two guys, one of whom was my brother, went in as customers. two other guys tried to use diplomacy to work out a deal. and when all else failed, i crashed our god damn car through the front door, running over two security guards in the process. on my next turn i rolled a fuck ton of critical successes and not only got back inside the car after getting shot at, but i ran over three more guys.
after we blew the bartenders brains out all over the back wall and killed the owner of the brothel, the manager lady agreed to cut us in. i think she made a smart decision there.
