1. Pee Problem - I have a small mix from the pound who is approx. 4 years old, and I have had him for about 4 or 5 months. When I first brought Knox home he was completely house trained. I lived in an apartment so I bought him a crate, and he was comfortable with it right away. Just within the last month or two he started peeing a little when he gets scared. I understand this is normal, especially with a small dog with a questionable background, but it seems to be getting worse and worse. And the confusing thing is that he does it when he isn't even in trouble. I can't even figure out what he would be afraid of. At first I yelled "no" at him when he did it, but then I thought that this was probably furthering his fear, so I tried to act like it was okay and nicely move him into his crate so he wouldn't leak all over the house. I really don't know what to do about it. It's gotten to the point where if I approach him like I'm going to pick him up, or if I try to pick him up, he pees. He has never had a problem with being picked up before. I want my dog to be comfortable, and I don't want pee everywhere, what do I do?
2. He's afraid of dogs - I've read the earlier posts on fear aggression, which Knox has with other dogs, and I just had one question about it. How do I take him someplace that has a lot of dogs without him feeling traumatized? I want to help him be okay with other dogs, but when I introduce him to them he stiffens up, wont look them in the eyes, and looks as if he would do anything to get out of the situation. I can't make him sit because he gets too tense, and I've tried flipping him over so that he shows submission, but I feel like I'm making him even more scared by doing so.
