A bit of a do...

Job number three today (can't believe I've only been going a week and a bit and I'm already up to 3).

One of my corporate contacts called up at short notice to ask for some photos at their anniversary dinner at a Very Posh Restaurant in Covent Garden.  Had to work really hard because the light was truly abysmal and I desperately didn't want to use a flash (it's so off-putting).  Persuaded the lovely staff to let me open up the mullioned, leaded windows to try and get a bit more light in the room and used the fastest lens I own.  Think it worked out ok.

Really bizarre bit, though: 80% of the people at the party were old corporate clients of mine from banking.  Even my old boss was there.  Was lovely to see so many friendly faces and they were all lovely - big kisses and cuddles and "Gwen! What are you doing here?"  Unfortunately, though, they all wanted to have a word about how the new business was going, how much they missed me, and other friendly stuff.  Was really hard to distance myself and actually get some photos taken 'cause everyone wanted to have a chat!

Funny, also how all these captains of industry are so supportive of little me going off and doing my artsy-fartsy thing.

Today, I also trawled through the yellow pages and pulled off the address of every drama school in London - marketing hit number one is to offer freebies to them, build up some portfolio and hopefully get some recommendations.

Also badly need to get this office thing sorted out - am still plugging away in the living room and it's starting to get on my tits.  Sadly, though, painting the spare bedroom isn't a tangible business generating activity so it keeps on slipping down the priority list!

Gormless David Tennant (GDT) is back, btw, as I (a) have no clue what day of the week it is and (b) am in deep mourning that there is absolutely nothing worth watching on telly until September.
