Another day, another trip to the back end of Zone 5...
Honestly, I must be cursed by the Public Transport Fairy or something. Today, on the way to a job, the bus I was on was involved in a shunt. Spent twenty minutes waiting for the driver to have stand up row with other driver, swap insurance details and get witness statements. Luckily, I'd learnt from Tuesday's fiasco and left loads of time for eventualities and arrived with a good quarter of an hour to spare.
Then! On the way home (and I kid you not), the bus driver took objection to another passenger who'd brought his dog on board. Spend half an hour waiting whilst he calls the police and has the guy evicted from the bus. I mean, honestly...
Have made a personal vow to avoid public transport from now on, which really annoys me. I should be able to travel around central London with a reasonable degree of confidence that I'll get to my inteded destination within 10-15 minutes of the alloted time. Taxis (as you'll see from my previous post) seem to be equally unreliable. So I'm caught between getting a new car or joining a car-share - both of which are (to varying degrees) not very environmentally sound.
I want to support Public Transport!!! But it's proving so unreliable that I can't. All very cross-making.
Grrrrrr
