My first ever figure drawing dump.
Going in order. Contour drawings are so hard to be expressive! I don't like using the "real" pencils all that much but my mechanical tears up the newsprint.
Contours, still looks really flat, the emphasis didn't work all that well. I liked drawing the hand though.
Such fleshy hands, they were a lot of fun to draw. Intersecting contours.
Then we used that sangue thing, I've never used conte crayons before.
Silhouettes, the arm is too short, I ended up re-doing it.
Sangue with charcoal pencil and erased highlights.
Short 5 min silhouettes with details.
The black conte is a lot softer and easier on my wrists. Wanted to draw her on a horse but I can't draw horses...
Detailed long pose with sangue, charcoal pencil, graphite and erased/white highlights.
Skeleton gestures, I know her spine is so long haha.
More skeleton-base studies plus flesh outline in compressed charcoal.
Outline drawing is so difficult! They never line up. I like how distorted his arms came out on the bottom one though.
I really like this looking back on this now. The distortion at the hip is just right. I want to try and duplicate it eventually.
More outline drawing, with detail. It still doesn't line up quite right though but not too big a deal.
I've gotten a lot more comfortable with the figure! I've never taken a figure drawing class before so it's a lot of fun working with a live model. I feel I'm getting better though, slowly.
