DUDE. I finally finished reading Villette this morning and have spent the past 30 minutes aimlessly wandering about my apartment with a cup of coffee pondering what in the hell went wrong (right?) in Charlotte Bronte's life to inspire her to write a book like this. According to my Goodreads list, I read 30 books in 2011! I know some people set goals of reading 50 books a year, but let's be serious here, I'm not that productive. This year I was heavy on mysteries and graphic novels and read hardly any non-fiction.

My friend Nick persuaded me to read Never Let Me Go, assuring me it is one of the best books he's ever read. I might never accept a book recommendation from him again! THIS BOOK SUCKS. I have become totally obsessed with the Maisie Dobbs mystery series by Jacqueline Winspear. I just finished book 6 tonight and it was amazing! I can't wait to read the next two.
