I've found myself enjoying these fillers somewhat not so much for the actual episode, but the closing credits at the end. Every single episode has slightly different ending credits that start off featuring one particular character (that's not always a good guy) using clips starting from Hueco Mundo (of course the one with Nell is my favorite).

Awe, I love Nel. Miss her :( The manga could use another dose of her cuteness.

She's definitely been one of my favorites and I wish we could see what became of her at some point.

And I thought of you when they got to the end credits of one of the last episodes I watched - it started off with Gin.

Ahhh Gin... Yet another great character that Kubo carelessly tossed to the side. He, Nel and Urahara are the most interesting characters in that show and now 2/3 are MIA/dead. Not impressed one bit :P

Those ending credits were fantastic though! Loved the ones with Gin and Urahara (and Nel, too, of course).

I have to admit, I kept expecting Gin to reappear at some point since it appeared he wasn't killed, but left. And yeah, Urahara is one of my favorite characters as well but at least he's still around.

BTW, did you ever go and see the 4th movie? I finally watched it online and it was a bit strange. It mostly seemed an excuse to use Ichigo's final hollowfied form.

I had a pretty good idea he was dead after watching the anime version. He basically says "Oh good, I can die now" and then Rangiku looks epic sad once they get back to SS. I wish he hadn't died though. I wanted a reunion for them. I really enjoyed the fact that his actions had a sense of morality behind them - with his own strange sense of justice, everything he did was for Rangiku. Because of that he had a poetic end, even though it was an end

I knew he'd said "Now I can die" but then I never figured out when. That added to the comment from Rangiko about how he'd left again made me think he wasn't actually dead. In any case, he was one of the more interesting characters.

I have to agree, those fight scenes early on between Ichigo and Ulq were the best part of the movie. And you confirmed exactly what I thought - getting money while they can out of the series.
