It is finally 2016; last year sucked, but don't we always say that?
I think it really did suck for sure, but I'm not going to go into review. Again, I have a new blog.
Last month, I had a tooth extraction. Out of fear, I avoided taking out my 3rd molars or wisdoms for years despite biting at the back of my cheek and occasionally having pain. Fortunately, the result turned out OK. I followed directions and healed nicely a week later. It was fun to eat yogurt and ice cream regularly.
But has my biggest concern been finance lately? I wanted to get a new apartment, but I don't think anything below twenty an hour full time would do, if I counted vehicle insurance, phone, etc. And this is for one bedroom. Good grief. It was racking my head because I was losing patience with babysitting, and with being unable to set myself to live individually.
I am planning to return to school the week after next. Also, I've still been practicing my sketches for as long as I could. To be honest, I think I'm doing better than before. No, rather, I am proud.
Because I told myself that this is where I wanted to do. Fine Arts. Once I decided, the level of commitment was easy. I read and researched, studied techniques in any way that i could, and then I sketched for months. And I see improvement. Improvement based on technique that I honed, to see that improvement was possible practically, that's what makes me very happy. Going
from this years ago (of course, I can't find anything older),
to this last year, and then
this at the end of 2015.
Still, I can't do real people. I liked animation and games for years, so apparently I can't get out of drawing cutesy just yet. Same proportional rules and techniques apply.
But since I have a goal to do cover art for some of my fiction, such as Dawn of End (Saint Seiya fanfic) and the original historical and crime fiction, I have to improve. I want to look at something and be able to draw.
I also hear that artists do hundreds and thousands of sketches to do a character, so I don't feel that bad.
Ah, what else?
Due to the constant distractions, I'm behind my shows. Finally watched Supergirl, and a part of me kind of wants the Jurassic Park series to go to sleep for a very long time.
