What can I say?
Last week and the week before last was mostly uneventful because I was busy AND I RARELY RARELY had to babysit. For the later, I became lazy. There's something else, and it rekindled my dislike for secular hypocrisy and teen parents - or rather, "stupid parents". But never mind that. Getting rid of anger is healthy, but it's like I said before, I guess things won't change. And I'm not the type who likes to complain a lot.
And I darn began
GOBUSTERS and
Legend of Galactic Heroes (銀河英雄伝説; Ginga Eiyuu Densetsu). No thanks to
dark_alone. I must be on six tokusatsu, Saint Seiya, two gundams, Fafner, Dancouga, etc. Way too much. I may not be able to finish Dancouga due to availability. I'd like to return to "Please Save my Earth" soon.
Oh yeah, I began ZZ (Double Zeta) GUNDAM. Judau is already likable.
BOOKS BOOKS BOOKS...and fanfiction
Frustration from lack of reading time, even though I'm close to halfway through my current book. (~_~) This doesn't help my lack of confidence in reading comprehension.
Also, Tom Clancy. Am I blind or is his font really darn tiny?!?!
The last time I talked about fanfiction was about M-rated content; recently, I came across a fanfic by an autistic writer (she said so). Her story's main character is autistic.
So, the author wants to report a reviewer for doing what he/she does: REVIEW/Evaluate. By all honestly, I rarely see that on fanfiction.net: tons of people talk about how a story is GREAT, and it can be as bland as a dead tree in the Winter.
Basically all the main character, a girl, does for two chapters is hear the trigger word, get angry, and cry and vomit. Also, she appears out of no where. And the trigger word is not even a rejecting or believable kind of word (IMO). The story diction was very shallow, making the character not that sympathetic; the setting in virtually non-existent, makes you wonder how a girl finds a toilet. Even more annoying was the fandom characters being portrayed as unlike themselves to make the character upset. There's only two chapters and that's it. Nothing more, nothing to relieve the mystery, to relieve the pain.
Just how old was this character??
In other words, it was very amateur. There is no feeling, just perplexity. It doesn't upset me, but the story is bland enough for ANYONE to flame her for the wrong reasons. Autism and anti-social disorders is a very broad topic, but the majority of statistics say that they are focused and intelligent. And I can imagine it being very very difficult to portray in a story.
The reviewer in question points all the story's flaws out, but more importantly, stated that the author needs to do research on autism. That was offensive to the author, who was autistic.
One thing that bugs me is writers saying that they get depressed (or suicidal) for being pointed out transparent flaws. Like they're being attacked, a common issue in heavy autism. It really depends on the words being used, but what to do? How do we know if an ONLINE author is autistic? Who does not like rejection?
And people, who face error and rejection, will see themselves as worthless. That's going to be a problem because how can you live in a writing world w/o error?
What I do wonder was two things:
+ The purpose of the story - are the fandom characters going to try to help the girl? (If they are, they AREN'T DOING IT YET!)
+ Why the choice of the trigger word? Did someone lie to her?

Maybe the lesson to ALL OF THIS is "keep pushing".
