Back.
Today, I'll post about MOTHER3 and Sonic, but I have to figure out what game for the latter.
First is
MOTHER3. I finished it a month ago.

MOTHER 3 CM 1: Thoughts from Kou Shibasaki (柴咲 コウ) The Tagline of MOTHER3, which is seen above, is the following:
奇妙で、おもしろい。そして、せつない。 (Strange, Funny, and Heartrending...)
So, what do I think?
What do I think of MOTHER3?
IMO, I am not good at reviews. How can I make a reliable, convincing evaluation telling you that MOTHER 3 is a good or bad game? What are its good and bad points?
Expressing myself is tough, so as a result I think I mostly go a linear way. Maybe by doing that, I found myself to appreciate things more and getting upset less.
Going by the format of some of the GameFaqs reviews, I can talk about graphics, music, gameplay, story.
Here's some of my favorite pieces of music:

Okay, here we go:
STORY: It starts with a loving family, who is then swept into chaos. On Gamefaqs, people say that the low point was the story. Maybe, but I don't think it's that much of a bother. The story makes the tagline, especially the funny and strange part (see gameplay). At the end of a chapter, sometimes in the middle, there is a scrolling narrative.
Oh yeah, the characters are likable. And the main characters change.
Also, a DOG THAT FIGHTS in your party! YEAH! And, there's dancing!
GAMEPLAY: Control is easy. I felt like I ran into bosses every 10-30 minutes. Ok that may be over doing it, but there has been some times that I felt like I'm already exhausted from fighting strong enemies then shortly after, without able to refresh (SOMETIMES), have to fight a boss. It can be a difficult game. As a first timer, I had to fight strong bosses and like maybe more than two enemies solo. There's an interesting system called "Rhythm Combo".
And I already mentioned in the that I fought some of the weirdest stuff such as trees, grinning illusions, electric particles, board signs, musical instruments, and screws. I'm surprised I haven't got ambushed by a mailbox.
GRAPHICS: Uhh. Nothing amazing, but it is simple and cute. It is 2-D, lipstick can kind of make the models look ugly, but it is crisp somehow. Beautiful backgrounds and cool looking animals. The chimera are wonderfully grotesque too. Uh, looking at this will should be easier:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Urm9iGpvdgg MUSIC: Hmm, mostly pleasant. The music holds the same theme as the game's tagline, in addition to "scary". Or maybe I should describe "Scary" as a kind of music that expressed "Wow, that enemy is strong".
Even packed in a Gameboy Advance, there are some beautiful pieces set to the right scenes, like the above "Leder's Gymopedie". The song that probably makes the entire game, and is one of the most emotional video game songs that I have ever heard so far, is the
Love Theme(愛のテーマ). It almost immediately hurts when you hear it, and it's often placed into the sad scenes. At least, that's how I feel. During battles, the enemies have different music as well. Another favorite of mine is the "Theme of King P". Here's the
Smash Bros Brawl Version. There's also another song with Bone
MISC: Just some additional things that I want to mention that seems to also be talked about a lot among the Japanese gamers:
Highlight for Spoiler: [ I actually had a little scare in this game: THE ULTIMATE CHIMERA!
A Photo here. You meet it in the Chimera Lab and are advised to STAY away from it, but you meet it in unexpected places. To the Japanese gamers, they describe the run in with the chimera as "trauma" (トラウマ). It's pretty ugly ;/ It's also a bit fast and you die in one hit if you touch it. I also heard that in Smash Bros Brawl, it deals fatal damage, or near that, to you. ].
Here's another thing that kinda bugs me (Chapter 8 spoilers + END!): - "Gymnopedie": As much as I enjoyed the long story behind the main setting's islands, the dragon, and the main villain, it was completely dumped onto me like at the end of the game.
- Antagonists: Main antagonist is King P, who you don't see until the very end. There wasn't much of a hint of him running everything throughout the previous chapters, or rather, you didn't care. The Masked Commander felt more like he was running things compared to his own boss. Also, here's another problem. If you play Smash Bros BRAWL before this game, and play Subspace, you will get spoiled about MOTHER 3.
- Ending: I won't explain it. It felt like a deus ex Machina but it is adorable, and I wish I could've seen what happened.
I think that's enough.
OK
Thank you Shigesato Itoi.
