I have to say that--at least to Blue Buffalo's credit--they are probably being one of the most proactive companies (along with Innova) with this whole recall thing (in fact, they are also looking for a new canning facility along with Innova)

But yeah, this is bad for many reasons (including confirming a fear of mine--that pet food processors may in fact be adding "extra ingredients" to batches without telling companies, something that also happened with Diamond and Natural Balance, meaning potentially all product from that packing firm is potentially contaminated). I have to worry about the stability of a LOT of companies, including Blue Buffalo, in this light.

(And for folks wondering what this all means in human terms...imagine if, say, ConAgra and ADM found contamination in their products. Those two companies serve a HUGE amount of the human food supply in the US. Imagine if more recalls came out with big food processors like Kraft and General Mills and others--to the point that only food known to be from organic or locally grown sources was safe. Then imagine if it was found out that some of the contaminated ConAgra product was fed to pigs...this is pretty much the situation we are now dealing with re the pet food supply.)
