After thinking further about anna_luna's AU drawing meme, I've decided that what would make me really happy? Would be a birdwatcher or ornithologist AU, with John and Rodney and binoculars and spotting scopes and bird guides, and John's a bird song expert, so he's always cocking his head and telling Rodney to shut up while he listens (and they argue about whether it's Old Sam Peabody Peabody Peabody or Oh Sweet Canada Canada Canada), and Rodney's charting migrational patterns and has a very elaborate life list database that he's extremely competitive about. (Birds would, of course, be tempted to nest in John's hair-or at least so Rodney claims, loudly and often.)
