I'm joyfully undertaking the
50books_poc challenge for myself, and so far I've read a random but fascinating assortment of things-my favorite being Kadir Nelson's
We Are the Ship, which is wonderfully accessible history and a love letter to baseball and amazing art all rolled up into one package. I wish I knew more kids-I'd be giving it to all of them.
I know there's no shortage of great booklists out there (
this is one of the most interesting ones I've come across in recent days), but if any of you have personal recommendations for can't-miss, favorite books (by writers of color), I would love to hear them-and as I continue with my own reading, I'll be sure to share the good stuff I encounter. ♥
ETA: Awesome booklists!
