I'm joyfully undertaking the 50books_poc challenge for myself, and so far I've read a random but fascinating assortment of things-my favorite being Kadir Nelson's We Are the Ship, which is wonderfully accessible history and a love letter to baseball and amazing art all rolled up into one package. I wish I knew more kids-I'd be giving it to all of them.
I know there's no shortage of great booklists out there (this is one of the most interesting ones I've come across in recent days), but if any of you have personal recommendations for can't-miss, favorite books (by writers of color), I would love to hear them-and as I continue with my own reading, I'll be sure to share the good stuff I encounter. ♥
