Self-Walking Dogs

It has been a while since I updated the Journal, I been busy at the New Job. Last week, while I was out walking a couple of blocks at lunch, I met the self-walking dogs.

I walked up to a corner and, waiting for the light to change, was a man with a dog and two puppies. The Mother, shepard mix, was on a normal leash sitting by the gentleman's feet. The puppies were wrestling with each other and falling all over mother, their Man, and anyone's feet with in a six foot radius. They had a length yellow braided polypropylene water-ski rope tied to each of their collars. It makes sense, just pick up the rope in the middle and you have a puppy on each end. I commented about how cute the puppies were at this age, and we chatted a bit waiting for the walk-light. The light changed, the man and the older dog started off across the street. The puppies stopped wrestling, each one picked a bight of the rope and trotted after mother, each holding its own leash. The last I saw of them, they were headed down 4th street as I went into the Metreon complex.
