It's new bass-gear time...

Aug 30, 2006 23:29

Okay. So someday, I hope that me throwing thousands upon thousands of dollars (away) into music-gear pays off. Today is not that day. But the investments must be made before I can make any profit. I mean, I could be like most (about 90%) of the "musicians" in the scene nowadays who either have mommy & daddy pay for their equipment; or get a loan and get all their gear at once, and then their whole first 2 or 3 years are spent between paying off that loan, and getting another (loan) for a vehicle, or management, or whatever, which essentially is the worst 2-3 years of a musician's life. But me, I'm paying for all my gear in CASH, piece by piece, so that when it's all said and done, it's mine. I don't have to worry about paying the bank money each month for gear that essentially doesn't belong to me.

Anyways, if you care to look, feel free. This is just a comprehensive list of gear that I hope (keyword: HOPE) to own by the end of this year. I'm photo-refrencing it for my own good.

This is the bass to end all basses... or at least, it will be.
Warwick Corvette $$ (Double Buck)

I don't know what color I want it in... I'm REALLY thinking red or black, but I'm leaning towards red. Jordynne wants me to get a green one... It's going to be a 5-string fretless version of those basses, so in those pictures, imagine the fretboard being black too.

Either way, people will KILL to have the tone I can get out of that bass. Man, I'd give ANYTHING to have that bass right now.

and the new amp....

Ampeg B2RE Bass Head and B410HLF 4x10" Half Stack

Yeah. I know. I was going to get an Ashdown. But the last band I played in, I got to use an Ampeg. Let me just say I was blown away with the tone I could get out of that beast. Eventually, I'll add more cabs to this unit if I feel I need more punch. Or if I want to make people's ears bleed.

And the secret weapon...

Tech 21 SansAmp 3-Channel Programmable Bass Driver DI

To quote my bass mentor, Jason "J-Mania" Groves:
"If I could, I would strain my cereal through my SansAmp. It's that good."
