It's complicated. There's all this stuff with alternate timelines...

The easiest way to think of it is that there's an infinite number of universes, so some of them are bound to have the same people in them. There's a friend of mine who's been and gone a dozen times, and there's never been more than two of him here at once.

It seems to be holding up around here so far, honestly. Then again, maybe the way people keep getting ideas to do crazy things to everyone - or the way things go wrong in a way that makes crazy things happen - is some sort of backlash, like that theory about history putting itself back together to make sure the past isn't changed.
