Set phasers to stun
They are pretty close to releasing energy-beam weapons. It's good for police and the military, because theoretically, if they shoot someone innocent, they won't die. They'll just be incapacitated. Although there's this one weapon they're getting ready to use in Iraq that'll make a person feel as if their skin is on fire. Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't that torture?
