Thanks goodness, the tickets arrived this morning AND I've now sorted out transport to get from home to Manchester so thats two more things I don't have to fret about for this trip. :D There's only one things left to do - I have to get properly packed. ><
I have managed to find my travel alarm clock (one with dodos all over it, naturally) but my black and purple goth top that I wanted to wear still remains a bit elusive. *wrinkles her nose* I'm sure it's hiding on purpose! *lmao*
Oh, oh, in other news! I received the new Primeval book, "
The Lost Island" by Paul Kearney!! It came through Amazon and its one of the few times they've not let me down on what I ordered. Wheee! Its going to be essential reading on the bus down to London, methinks. *lol* The write up on the back is as follows...
" Anomalies are starting to appear, doorways in time to worlds we can barely imagine. The anomalies are conclusive proof that the past exists in a fourth dimension as real and solid as those we already know. Our job is to predict and contain them.
A trawler is torn to pieces by an enormous sea monster off the irish coast. Meanwhile, Connor's anomaly detector goes off the charts: half a dozen rifts in time have appeared, all on one deserted - yet politically contentious - island...
While Lester struggles to hold onto his career as the story edges ever closer to the front page, Cutter and the team battle through a deadly storm to reach the island, only to find themselves fighting to survive amidst the terrifying creatures roaming the harsh landscape... "
Sounds good, eh? The bit in italics is, as you probably already know, a quote from Cutter from series one.
And, in the back of the book, in amongst a myriad of blank pages, are the blurbs for the other two books. No release dates yet for these, but I've got them already on order.
EXTINCTION EVENT by Dan Abnett (This one features Abby on the cover.)
Extinction Event has a release date of 23rd Jan 2009, according to Amazon.
" An Entelodon (
this is the handsome chappie ) goes on the rampage down Oxford Street causing untold damage and loss of life, and Cutter decides a new approach to tackling the anomalies is needed. When a mysterious Russian scientist arrives at the ARC, Cutter thinks he might have found the answer...
Kidnapped and smuggled into Siberia, Cutter, Abby and Connor are faced with an anomaly disaster on an epic scale... While Lester and Jenny must work together to try to track them down. "
FIRE AND WATER by Simon Guerrier (This one features Connor on the cover - YAY!)
Fire and Water has a tenuous release date of 27th Feb 2009, according to Amazon.
" At a safari park in South Africa, rangers are inexplicably disappearing and strange creatures have been battling with lions and rhinos. As the team investigates they are drawn itno a dark conspiracy which could have terrible consequences...
Back in London, Connor and Abby have been left to cope on their own. As torrential rain pours down over the city, an enormous anomaly opens up in East London... "
I also got the "
Monster Wipe-Out Games" book - of course, its aimed at kids, but its a good thing to add to my rather extensive collection of Primeval memorabilia. :P Its very basic, with the games being simple in rules and layout. As I said, its very obviously for the younger end of the fanscale, with wipe-clean pages which I'm yet to test out the durability of. *lol*
;)
