Bloody tectonic activity! =P
Yep, we got woken up at 1:00 by the bed shaking violently around. I am ashamed to say that I woke up and yelped but Richard did too so it's not quite so embarrassing!
Also it seems that my subconscious mind is more sensible than my conscious mind coz my first thought was "Oh, an earthquake!" but then my conscious mind kicked in and I started noticing odd things, such as the fact that next door's dog (who usually throws herself barking at the door if you dare to walk past the house or go up the stairs in our house next door) was totally silent, or that nothing in the house seemed to have even moved such that a spent matchstick which was balancing on the matchbox next to the candles near the bed hadn't even rolled off the box. I therefore started wondering if it was something other than an earthquake so started worrying that one of us had been having really violent night terrors or, worse, some kind of fit. And the thought did even cross my mind that some sort of supernatural entity had been shaking the bed, but I put that down to too much X-Files before bed!
Anyway, the upshot was that I was restless for the rest of the night and am now very tired. Was pleased, however, to get a text from Lyndsey this morning asking who else was woken by the earthquake. Was also amused by her footnote that Darron was particularly shaken by it coz he was watching "Shaun of the Dead" at the time when it happened! =)
So, today I shall be doing lots of work (as always!) then trying out Mary Berry's recipe for goulash and feeding it to my guinea pigs sister and Richard.
