Hmmmm, let's see...

Sunday: Went to a friend's wife's birthday party with some folks I knew in Roppongi. I normally avoid that part of town like the plague because it's infested with booty-fix-seeking asshole foreigners, but what the hey, I can make exceptions from time to time. At some point, one of the DJ's at the club (cafe?) introduced me to a girl and guy that turned out to be a typical Roppongi white-boy craving drunk Japanese chick and a homosexual Spanish guy named Carrrrrrlos, not necessarily in that order. They were interesting enough with their ramblings, but it's to bad Carlos was leaving the next day to go back to England where he was studying English or some other nonsense like that. He did however recommend a bar in Shinjuku 2-chome (the hella gay district) where you can drink as much beer as you want from 6-9pm for something like $10. Such claims are ridiculous in any town, no matter what styling the beer may happen to be. And sorry lady, even though I appreciate the cheap sex angle, I already gots one.

Monday: Went to Funabashi to visit my brother The Jordanian Connection, hereafter referred to JC to protect the innocent from incrimination. He's still having a rough time, but it looks like some things will come through within the couple months to help lift weights off the ol' back. On the train home we talked about the shameful situation in the world today regarding labeling entire religions because of a few nutjobs, both in Christianity and Islam.

Tuesday: Went to Kameido to hang with Yuta and have him teach me the basics of DJing. It was really fun, although I didn't realize how hard it is to concentrate on two songs at the same time while beat matching, etc. Afterwards we chilled, listened to tunes from his damn fine vinyl collection of people I've never heard, and ate seafood curry that his moms made for us.

Wednesday: Went to The Lady's venue and fell asleep while watching a Korean movie with Japanese sub-titles. Yeah, that's fucking helpful. It's so damn fast, maybe I can understand thirty percent if I'm lucky. The main guy in this movie called Scandal, Bae Yong-Joon, basically has every Japanese housewife lusting after his body because of a little soap opera series called Winter Sonata.

Thursday: Did laundry and read a bit of my Immunology book.

Friday: I ATE WHALE, HAHAHHAAHA!!! Seriously though, there's this restaurant in Shibuya called, uh, The Whale Store, where they serve nothing but whale(http://www.kujiraya.co.jp). How awesome and completely in-your-face-PETA is that? It's too bad that while the place itself was really cool and had a great atmosphere, whale tastes like ass. It tasted almost of McDonald's burger quality when thrown out and left to be eaten by pigeons in a New Jersey landfill. The experience of my whale and cheese cutlet and The Lady's eggplant and ground whale will forever be etched upon my memory in the worst of ways. At least I managed to score myself some Hoegaarden on tap at a severely overcrowded bar afterwards.

This very same night I was lame and didn't go to an all-night dealy featuring DJ Food at Unit. Reports the following day indicate that it was "awesome." Goddamit. I just couldn't bring myself to pay $60 bucks for it after I was burned by Kasabian and their shitty live show.

Saturday: After chilling in bed with The Lady until some ridiculous hour like 5pm or whatever, I finally got myself up to go to an all night local DJ event with some friends in Roppongi (I hope this isn't becoming a trend). It was okay I guess, but I wasn't really in the mood for dancing and six hours of THUMP THUMP THUMP hard house and techno kinda got old after a while. At least Yuta's tunes were badass as usual.

And finally, I have been blessed. It took five months to come to fruition, but some knucklehead in my apartment complex is providing unsecured wireless as of this very day.

Yay!
