Okay, part of me is busy thinking, "Wow, *could* a shapeshifter haunt someone? Cool."

And the rest of me is curled up in a little ball of angst right next to Dean.

(Actually, this fic reminds me of the final scene in "Children Shouldn't Play With Dead Things," where the emotions finally near the surface, and we think we know what's going on...and then it twists slightly, just enough to sucker-punch us with the angst.)

Thank ya. :D I was going for the suckerpunch there. I know, cheap of me. But effective. :D

Thank you. Originally, this was going into the details of the a shapeshifter haunting, but then I realized the real power is in not knowing for sure which way the wind blows. Or in other words: torturing Dean. There always seems to be great power in that. I'm not sure why ...

Heh.

Oh that was some magnificently done Dean-angst. :)

Thanks. I love me a little Dean-angst in the morning. And with a prompt like "guilt," I felt a little guilty not going for it ...

Oh that was good too! I liked how he kinda substituted Ellen in there for Mom as long as he could. I think it kinda says something about who he views Ellen as, but that might just be my overthinking. Once again the characterization of the relationship Sam and Dean have was really good.

If you're overthinking it, at least we're there together. Because that is exactly where I was going.
