SPN Fic: To Everything A Season (12/14) (Gen, R, FutureFic)

Sep 17, 2006 04:50

Sam was being an emo bitch and wouldn't tell me what his problem was. But he finally copped to it, so we're up and running again. When I left you last, thought I was at a scene break. Turned out not so much, so we're resuming where we left off, mid-scene instead of new scene. Again, blame Bitch Emo-Sam. It's not his fault, but he gets blamed for ( Read more... )

New part. *squee*

Okay slight question, Phoenix, when they destroyed the Demon and Dean was possessed, is this a reference to another story? Or is this new info? *scratches head*

"Sam would step in front of a train for you."
That surprised him. Not only that she said it; but the way she said it, like she had no patience for anyone so stupid as to not be able to see something so obvious.
"I know that," he said finally, just so she wouldn’t think he was really that stupid.
"Good. Because he would."

I think the difference here is a matter of interpretation. Sam has and will always draw lines at what he`d be willing to do for Dean, aka not doing what Dean did for Dad, giving himself up. Yet he would absolutely step in front of a train for him. But he wouldn`t do everything for Dean.

For Dean it`s all or nothing. And if it`s not all, it showes a lack of caring (of course not true but his perception) because he does it, why can`t the others. He is willing to do everything and if he has to swallow his own wants, he`ll do it each and everytime. It`s something that was cultivated from the age of four and he has never broken free of it, until I think he slightly started to in the story, settling down with Mary etc. And yes I`ve felt John and Sam both have taken plenty advantage of that over the years.

"You’re still his son, Sam."
"Not the way Dean is."

I know how it`s meant here but I`ll always have to give it an amused head-shake because IMO Sam and John are just so much more similar in personality than Dean and John could ever be. :)

I could see it from where I was standing.

Oh, this would be a huge factor for Dean because I never thought little Dean actually did see Mary. The blocking didn`t work for it. Which is how I interpreted his expression when he saw Jess at the ceiling, an "OMG, did she look like THIS?"

I loved the Dean-Julie scene. Talk about an uncomfortable situation. ;)

And OMG, Sam told the truth which makes sense at this point but Doctor Danny took it really calmly. Which I guess is the difference between hearing that stuff and actually encountering it.

Sorry, for rambling all over the place here. I spent half the night working on my own fic and I guess my brain has short-circuited somewhere down the line. *g*

No, Phoenix is a totally offscreen thing. Had to kill the demon to tell the story, and wasn't interested in telling THAT story just to tell this one, so I just had a "they caught the demon and killed it in Phoenix" pre-fic thing in place. So no, you're not missing anything.

I'm not too sure Sam has lines when it comes to what he'd do for Dean. At least, not in the short term. He's more functional about putting what he needs into the equation than Dean is, but in the short term, I don't think there is anything he wouldn't do as a knee-jerk response if it meant saving Dean. The way I see the show, Sam is all about the Dean. Just as Dean is all about the John.

I know others see it differently though.

I don't think the blocking in the premiere really supports the idea that Dean saw Mary, but figured that was a small fudge for a bigpayoff, so I went with it, justifying it by the icon above. :D

Thanks for clearing up the Phoenix thing for me. You do realize that you now have to write this story too to satisfy my curiosity? ;)
I...I even did write a shortish story where John comes off as a nice Daddy. And I plan to write one more.

With the lines I meant both long-term or short-term. Sam would never sublimate his self for Dean or anybody else. Even Dean doesn`t fulfill this criteria 100 % because no human being could IMO but he comes closest so that`s my definition for "all." :)

Wooo whooo! We're gonna turn you into a John girl yet. Well, okay, at least turn you away from a clock-John girl at least. :D

I can't agree with you on the Sam thing, but we often disagree on that kind of stuff, so that pretty much puts us right on track, doesn't it? LOL

I don`t think you ever gonna turn me away from the clock-John thing, sorry. His behaviour in DMB is such that I find to be pathetic and have no patience for in RL so it also gets me riled up in fictional characters.
Don`t know if you`re familiar with NCIS but I`d love to see him pitted against Gibbs there. :D

But I always try to be fair and view his side too.

And yup, I kinda believe the world would crumble if we found ourselves agreeing on everything. ;)
