This captured the hurt/comfort emotional ride beautifully. The almost-end when Bobby asks their names is almost enough comfort. The very end, the last sentence, is exactly the comfort I needed.

"What would Bobby do?" There must be a t-shirt already, right?

Oh John!

Captured Bobby perfectly. And John too. It's just so raw for John, it's heartbreaking to realize that it was the boys that kept him from getting himself offed years ago.

I think you got these two spot on. I think Bobby's reactions were absolutely perfect. Exactly how I think he would have reacted to John's plea/threat.

Now that you've written this, I'd love to see Bobby's first meeting with the boys...after hearings about them from John. Like....Bobby getting them while John's in the hospital. *hint hint nudge nudge* Teehee!
