2011 - Month By Month.
I saw a meme floating around and I thought about doing it, but there are like 40 questions on it and I'm too lazy (re: busy playing Wii). So let's just write up my months and maybe if I feel like it next week, I'll do a fic list for the year.
January - I got myself my very first IPod. I named it School of Rock and it has made therapy a hell of a lot more fun. This is also the month The BFF got her Law School degree!! And on January 10th, I got my one year drug free and my very first tattoo!!
February - Started back at therapy for my shoulder. Awesome fun trip to attend hiyacynth's baby shower - still have semi-wet dreams about the salmon they served. Grandpa's health worsened and we realized he would never be able to leave the nursing home.
March - hiyacynth's baby boy, Campbell (codename: Munchy P) was born!!!!! <--extra exclamation points! Also, I discovered Baby Hoarders, the best show you are not watching. (Okay, I saw it again when flipping through my LJ and had to reshare). I got glasses for distance-vision.
April - Met Campbell for the first time...swear he lets off this baby-fresh scent that makes me want to bottle it up and sell it as perfume. The BFF moved into our basement apartment. Finished the final extras on the final DVD of the final season of Buffy - thus concluding my epic watch of all things Buffy. I discovered I like Michael Rosenbaum in drag. (yes, I feel it belongs on the list, okay).
May - Comment section on Everything is Just Fine rolled over to three pages...the only time this has ever happened for me. hiyacynth and her boy made a surprise visit and totally made my week! I had my one year LJ anniversary. I had my Hobbit Coming-of-Age - (that's 33 for those of you wondering) - and participated in my first beating of a pinata. It was also The BFF's birthday, (we share the day). My Canadian-Nephew, Tyler, was born!! He looks so much like The Canadian-Brother and The Guy Cousin did at that age.
June - I started back at physical therapy, again. My sister's birthday was this month. I hit my 200th post!
July - Best roadtrip. Ever. Still beyond thrilled that The BFF agreed to drive me to VT for my friend's wedding. It was quite an awesome trip and I am unbelievably thrilled to have been at David's wedding. Which leads me to #2, my long-time friend David's wedding!! I met The Canadian-Nephew for the first time this month. I hit 18 months drug-free. I was brave and invited new people (Kevin's two daughters) to a movie, which is a big deal for me. I started a zombie dance-off with menel. (Yes, it had to make the list).
August - I met my first LJ friend in RL, ceitfianna. I had met some of my sister's LJ friends back in the day, when I didn't have a journal of my own and then in 2010 when I got one, I friended those people. But this is the first time I met someone under their journal name, talked through LJ and then made plans to meet them in person. She needed a paper shredder and we were selling one at our garage sale and that was that. We are currently gearing up for a Gilmore Girls marathon sometime this month. Also, we finally moved my mom out of her terrible living situation.
September - The month started good, with me once again being brave and pushing my social boundaries (one of my goals for the year). I sucked it up and asked Cherie from therapy if she wanted to grab lunch...we could have stayed gabbing for hours. But then the month went bad, as I lost my best kitty, Papa Bear. He was sick all month and it was a long struggle. I got him just before I turned 20 and he was with me all those years, the first pet that was totally and truly all mine. My best boy.
October - The Detroit Tigers made it into the playoffs, but sadly not The World Series. My brother came to visit and I got to see him and the family, briefly. And then the bottom fell out and I got very, very sick. Passed out, had a seizure, went to the hospital, the whole deal. Was pretty tired and ill for weeks afterwards. October blew. Oh, there was Halloween and I just thought I should mention that we were Reapers this year.
November - The Nephew broke his arm, his first broken bone ever. We got our first snow on November 10th. Attended Dark!Alec*Con with The Sister, The BFF and oselle - (lucky for us the convention was being held right in our own living room!). Started back at therapy, again. Lord of the Rings extended edition rewatch...flailed everywhere.
December - Crappy hair dye job. Had the worst week of health since I came home from the hospital, thus confirming that there is still something wrong with me. David came to visit!! I got a Wii!! Moved Mom into her new house. Did I mention I got a Wii?
Wow. That probably took longer than just doing the actual meme. I guess I'll save the year in movies/music/etc for later. I will also tag this later, because now I am tired).
It was clearly a long, crazy year full of ups and downs, goods and bads...and I am grateful that all of you were there with me!
