My weekend was very good. I did many things.
On Friday, The BFF came down and we sat around the living room and talked about important things - first season of Lost, Sin City, my TV-boyfriend Special Agent Danny Taylor, some other things that seemed vitally important at the time but I am sure were complete and utter nonsense. Then I realized I needed to shower and put on actual clothes, so I did. When I came out, my sister was home and was bemoaning what to do about dinner and then randomly declared we should go out to Applebees. My sister rarely suggests such things, so this was lovely.
We went to dinner and had good food and my sister had drinkies and we talked about SuperPretendNatural Season 6 - (nope, I can't tell you what happens, that would be cheating - but I am sure the people waiting for a table near us wondered who we were that we kept talking about "episode 13 should be which one? Okay, we need two more episodes and we have a full season.") - and there was much laughing and fun to be had. We had this waiter, I shall call him Cute Kyle, and he was all smiles and pretty locks of hair. But I felt old and pervy. You know when you are in your mid 20s and the waiter guy is an age you can't determine so maybe high school age or maybe college age, but hell you're only 25, so flirting is okay - but then you reach 30 (or 32) and suddenly no matter how cute he is, you kind of want to give him chocolate milk and ask him if he's done his homework yet? Yeah. Not saying if Cute Kyle had been the required legal age that I wouldn't have gone there, but only after he did his homework. Should I stop reading so much RPS? I think I should.
Then, after three margaritas, my sister decided we should go to Target so we could help her decide which ridiculous gift to buy The Nephew for his birthday in May. I voted for the Dragon Ship (very Narnia) but she went with the Dragon Castle. It lights up and makes noise. Then I decided to get a new stereo for the bathroom. "Bossy" (my bose) is more than ten years old and had pretty much crapped out on me. It stopped playing copied cds about a month ago and this week it stopped playing any cds. RIP Bossy. So I wanted a $30 stereo. I found one that was namebrand Jensen and I said, "I could take a shower with Jensen," and then laughed and then thought, "Huh. I feel like I have made this joke before." Then my sister said, "Hell, we have that portable Jensen that we use when we have cookouts outside. You could just use him and we can snag him if we have cookouts and stuff." And then I remembered once making a joke, "We are going to have a picnic with Jensen, you guys." I am so lame. So now The Jensen is in my bathroom and I saved $30.
I immediately spent the $30 on The Nephew's birthday present. He used to have a pirate ship wading pool that shot water out of the canon. He recently said to me, "Hey, where is my pirate ship?" - "Buddy, remember the raccoon used it take a bath and put a big hole in it? We had to throw it out." - "Oh, yeah, that's right. I'm gonna need a new one. Will you take care of that for me?" lol So, sucker that I am, I did. I got him a Dragon Pool (yes, he has a thing for Dragons right now and I blame "How To Train Your Dragon" and that's okay). The tail of the dragon pool is a slide and the head shoots water. It is awesome.
On Saturday I was productive and sorted through about 9 months worth of mail that had just been shoved in my bookcase, while I watched a Bones mini-marathon. Now it is sorted, I just have to file it away. Then we watched a Animal Hoarders, two What Not Wears and started the last disk of Dollhouse. I also read the latest chapter in
How To Date Your Brother.
On Sunday, we went to see my grandpa. My grandma was there and my cousin, her husband and their two boys. They were excited to see us and then tried to get an invite out of us to come to our house and play with our awesome cool toys - (the boys, not my cousin). My grandpa seemed slightly confused, but it was a pretty big crowd and that was a lot for him to handle, partially because he can't keep track of everything going on and he can't hear that well. His new digs look good (he's in the new assisted living room) and is about twice the size of the old room. Then we played some euchre and grandma and I destroyed them.
After that we were suppose to be going to see my dad, but he said he wasn't feeling well, so instead we called The BFF and asked if she wanted to see "Sucker Punch" (for her second time) and she was all, "I'll meet you at the theater." I rec you all go see this movie.
Afterwards my sister and I had this conversation:
Me: I liked her clothes.
Sister: Of course you did.
Me: Because I am an anime hooker?
Sister: Well, I wasn't gonna say it.
So, that was my weekend. I am exhausted still. But it was most excellent fun!
Hope your weekends were too. (Yes, I realize it is the middle of the night on Tuesday already!)
