More Galentine's fic! For
wolfrider89’s prompt, Faith and Buffy - retirement home. Do with that what you will. Omg, lol, I read this prompt and then like two weeks later when I went to write the story, my brain just totally left out the retirement home thing. Ha, so yeah, no retirement home in this at all. But still, it’s Faith and Buffy and shenanigans! And it was totally ridiculous fun to write their voices and my sister came in the room and saw the words, “Why so much glitter?” Buffy asked. “And why the wig?” on the computer screen and busted out laughing, so there’s that.
wolfrider89, you are too far away for how much I love you, bb! 1,556 words. Enjoy!

“What’s on the agenda for tonight?” Faith asked, slinging an arm around Buffy’s shoulders.
Buffy threw the offending arm right back off. She didn’t have time for Faith’s shenanigans. They always ended badly, for some reason.
“The usual,” she said. “Patrolling, slaying some vamps, midnight rounds in the cemetery. Typical Saturday for a slayer. But I suppose you wouldn’t know anything about that.”
It’s not that she didn’t like Faith, it’s just that she took her job more seriously than Faith. Which was disconcertening, because Buffy had never pegged herself to be the one to take the whole slayer thing that serious to begin with.
“Boring,” Faith told her. “Come on, B. It’s the weekend. Even slayers have to take the night off once in awhile.”
“I suppose you have a better idea?” Buffy asked, and she tried to make it sound offensive and sarcastic, but secretly anything sounded better than another Saturday night in a cemetery.
“There’s a rave…” Faith started to say.
“A what?”
“A rave. You know, flashing lights, glow sticks, glitter, dancing. Drugs for those who choose to imbibe,” Faith said and then threw up her hands when Buffy flashed her a disapproving look. “Not that I choose to.”
“Dancing, huh?” Buffy asked and hated the way Faith looked at her, like she knew she had already won.
“Definitely dancing,” Faith said and slung her arm around Buffy’s shoulders again. “Most definitely dancing.”

“Why so much glitter?” Buffy asked. “And why the wig?”
“You look slammin’ in it, B, that’s why,” Faith told her and finished adjusting the neon pink wig to Buffy’s head.
Buffy fastened another glow bracelet to her arm - six on her left, three on her right and a multi-colored one around her neck.
“Throw some more glitter on me,” Faith said and Buffy took the can of sticky sparkles and tossed another handful in Faith’s direction.
Faith had actually braided her hair - which Buffy thought looked rather nice on her - and woven glow sticks throughout it. She had a massive amount of neon colored makeup on her face and was wearing a necklace with a large diamond attached to it that flashed like a strobe light whenever Faith moved.
Okay, Buffy thought as she looked in the full sized mirror in her bedroom, we do look pretty darn slammin’.

“Just, stay close,” Buffy told her, once they entered the old warehouse with graffiti marking the walls and droves of people packed inside, lights flashing and bodies moving to the music. “Every time I try for a night out, bad mojo goes down.”
“But we’re slayers,” Faith said and slapped Buffy on the back. “We’ve totally got it handled.”
They moved into the center of the makeshift dance floor, Faith moving her hips to the beat of the thrumming music pounding out of the stage speakers. The graffiti on the walls glowed and the people around them glowed and Buffy settled into a rhythm and let Faith move her, hands on Buffy’s hips. Bodies danced around them, people brushing against them, some girl next to Buffy spinning on her toes like a ballerina, the whites of her eyes glowing under the lights.
“Is there a black light on the ceiling?” Buffy asked Faith, leaning in to press her mouth to the shell of Faith’s ear so she could be heard.
Faith wrapped an arm around Buffy’s waist, bumped their hips together. “Probably.”
“It’s just everyone’s faces are like really white and pale and like, glaring,” Buffy told her, popping her hips to the music.
“B, did you imbibe on those drugs I was talking about? Hardcore, slayer girl.”
“I did not imbibe,” Buffy protested. “Unless you spiked me.”
“Not my style,” Faith told her.
“Everyone’s faces just look like weird,” Buffy said and snorted. “Ravers might be out of my league with their style choices.”
“Huh,” Faith said and stopped moving, the first time her hips hadn’t been swaying to the music since they’d walk in the door. “Everyone does look weird. Their foreheads are huge.”
“You got spiked too?” Buffy asked, but didn’t take her eyes off the spinning ballerina girl, whose distorted face looked a lot like a….
“Vampire!” Faith said, loud enough for several people to hear her over the music, heads turning to look in their direction.
“Many vampires,” Buffy added. “Are we at a vampire rave?”
“How do you tell the difference?” Faith asked, looking around at the crowd, who was now all looking back at them.
“I don’t know, this is my first rave!” Buffy cried.
“I think our night is about to get wicked interesting.”
“Remind me never to listen to you ever again.”
“Sure, but later, B. Later.”
And that’s when they pulled out their stakes. Which yeah, sure, Buffy always had one on her, but she couldn’t for the life of her figure out where Faith had been hiding hers, in a tank top and skin tight black jeans, there couldn’t possibly have been room for a stake anywhere.
It defied the laws of physics, Buffy thought and then beamed that she actually knew ‘physics’ was the right sciencey word for that. Giles would be so proud of her.
“So? Back to back?” Faith asked.
“Okay,” Buffy said. “But I want her first,” and she pointed at the spinning ballerina girl. “She’s freaking me out.”
Two slayers in the middle of possibly a hundred vampires was actually a fight most people would pay to see. Of course, most people had never seen a single vampire, let alone a hundred, and most vampires had never seen a single slayer, let alone two.
The circle around them closed in and they pressed their backs together, so they could watch from every side. It was also an excellent position for Faith to flip Buffy straight over her back in a sort of somersault kick-flip move. Buffy also happily employed the spin-and kick with a little ballet flare to it, definitely inspired by the first vampire she had dusted that evening.
One vampire tried to grab Faith by the throat and instead ripped off her flashing diamond necklace.
“Hey!” Buffy shouted at the vamp. “She paid good money for that!”
“Actually, I shoplifted it, but same sentiment,” Faith said and dusted the vampire with the spike on her heel.
“Not really the same sentiment at all,” Buffy told her, but Faith just shrugged and went back to slaying.
The music didn’t stop, so the extra beat just added a little pop and flare to the festivities, though glow sticks and shiny glittery rave attire were also helping with making this the most stylish vampire assault Buffy had ever had the pleasure of engaging in.
And, oddly, it was a bit of a pleasure. She had intended to work up a sweat to the music and, in the end, that’s actually kind of what she did.

“Is this the place?” Xander asked, looking suspiciously at the abandoned warehouse.
“This is the address Faith gave me on her message,” Willow said, looking at the scrap of paper she had written the information on. “Besides, listen to that music, that’s total rave music.”
“Oh, like you would know about rave music,” Xander said and rolled his eyes.
“Hey, I rave. I’m a total raver. Raving is my game.”
“Sure it is, Will,” Xander said and hooked an arm in Willow’s own, before dragging her into the warehouse.
The strobe lights and intense amount of glow sticks that seemed to be laying about on the floor made it hard to see, but the music was still blasting, pump-beat-pump practically sending waves across the floor, kicking up a thick layer of dust there.
The only thing Xander could see clearly was two people in the middle of the dance floor, moving in fast, easy motions to the music.
“Buffy?” Willow said.
“Hey, you made it,” Faith cried from the dance floor, and then they were there, Buffy with an arm slung over Faith’s shoulders, pink wig on crooked, Faith’s braid mostly undone, glow sticks hanging haphazardly out of her hair.
“What happened here?” Willow hollered over the music.
“Vampires,” Buffy said, nonchalantly.
“Where are all the party people?” Xander asked, looking around. “Did they get out? I’ve never actually met a hardcore raver before.”
“Naw, nobody got out,” Faith said and Xander felt his eyes bulging.
“They’re all dead?” he cried.
“Dead to begin with,” Buffy said and flipped her hair, letting the pink wig fall to the floor. “Vampire rave.”
“Why would you invite us to a vampire rave?” Xander asked and threw his hands up for extra empathize. It helped get through to Faith. Sometimes.
“Come on, Xan, live a little,” Buffy said.
“It’s Slayer Saturday Night,” Faith told him and slapped Xander on the chest.
“Maybe next week we’ll raid a demon disco,” Buffy told him. “No boys allowed though.”
Faith shrugged and let Buffy lead her out of the warehouse, calling back over her shoulder. “The witch can come though. Honorary membership.”
“But…” Willow said and raised a tentative hand in the air. “The witch doesn’t want to come.”
But Faith and Buffy were already gone, walking off into the dark of the empty street, only their glow sticks and a flashing diamond necklace left to light the way.
