First of all, thanks to everyone who followed my disability blog! I was so surprised to see you guys over there! I already have 9 followers and I’ve only been using it for about three days steadily, so it’s going well so far.
ION, I went to IKEA yesterday for the first time and it was awesome! For those of you that don’t know, IKEA is a furniture store but it’s freaking huge. You go up to the second floor and they have a showroom, with all the furniture set up in little areas. A living room in this corner, a bedroom over here. An entire section of kids’ rooms. It’s like any furniture store showroom but the size of a warehouse! So it was like being in a life-sized dollhouse. I was freaking out! For those of you that also don’t know, I was totally into dollhouses as a kid. I didn’t care to play with them so much as I just wanted to set them up and arrange the furniture. I was way into décor. And I still am. Like I love the house fandom on Tumblr because it’s all just furniture design and interior decorating shit. I like to look at furniture on like Amazon and design houses and decorate them in my head. I’m a nerd. My dad was really into designing houses via architecture tools and I would watch over his shoulder at what he was designing and then imagine how I would arrange the furniture in his house. IKEA was really stupidly crowded though, so next time I want to go on a weekday, instead of a weekend. I did get an idea of what I need for my room - the last little bit of The Great Reorganization. Sis picked up a totally cute, white and pink desk too!
In final news, my sister got an award at work for managing a huge client. Apparently the client’s head supervisor has nothing but praise for Sis and put in for her to get acknowledgement from the super up-high boss at Sis’ company and they ended up giving her a commendation and everything. She says she feels weird about it because there is a whole team who worked on the project and they all deserve recognition, but I was all, “You are the one who handled all the obnoxious phone calls and meet and greets and client bullshit…handling it in such a tactful way that you managed to keep the million dollar client, so you get the award, boo.” I am rather proud of her, myself.
That is all.
