So, first off, last night we had my cousin's 10 yr old daughter spend the night. We try to, every once in awhile, have her over for a Girl's Night. She really enjoys that extra female attention, I think. We played some Wii Sports - (she rules at tennis, I rule at bowling) - and she told us a million stories - (you guys think I can spin a tale, you should hear her). And while we were explaining to her that the cats would come see her on their own schedule because you can't get a cat to do anything they don't want to do, she said, "Yeah. Like men." OMG, she is 10, where did she hear that?! After dinner we played two games of Simpsons Clue and ate cupcakes she brought from her Mom's baby shower. We also watched her current favorite movie, Pitch Perfect. She not only knows all the words to all the songs, but she knows all the dialogue for the movie too! This morning, after Sunday breakfast with my mom, my sister took her to the movies. Apparently at breakfast she was telling everyone who would listen about her special Girl's Night with her cousins!
But that's all the fun I get because the rest of the week is going to be insane.
On Monday I have two routine medical tests, (no pain required), but for the first one I can't eat for 6 hours ahead of time and for the second one I have to spend like an hour and a half in a pitch dark room. Which means, no food for six hours, then drive an hour to the university hospital, have the test, shove food in as fast as I can, go to the next test, try to keep my eyes open for an hour and a half in a dark room because it is a visual test and I have to be awake, and then drive home during rush hour - 7 hours after I started getting ready in the first place. I get car sick, and with no food on the way there and exhaustion on the way back, chances are, I will throw up in my sister's car.
Tuesday I have to go to my Medicaid hearing. I haven't even told you guys about this shitstorm because I kept thinking it would get sorted and I could tell you the whole tale once I had a resolution. But it has been going on since March and now I am finally getting in front of a judge and there better be some ass-kicking up in that room. I will tell you the whole sordid affair once it's all worked out. Anyways, while I am excited to finally get my day in court, it is going to be nerve-wracking and stressful. And I get to follow it up by going to physical therapy.
Wednesday my mom is finally, hopefully, having all of her teeth pulled. This is attempt #4 and I think if the doctors say she isn't well enough this time, they probably won't even try again. Having all her rotting teeth pulled will do wonders for her health - (they got that way because of the dry mouth syndrome she has). But she has to be well enough to have it done, but without it being done, she will never be well enough. See the catch? This time they are trying it in the hospital, in the operating room, with a bunch of doctors. She has to go under for it though and the last time she went under for a surgery the anhestiologhist - (uh, spelling?) - said that she should never go under again unless it was a life or death scenario because she stopped breathing on the table and she shouldn't be put under. It'll go one of three ways: they'll send her home without doing it (again), or they'll do it and it'll all go fine and be the best thing for her ever, or she'll stop breathing on the table and/or get an infection after the fact and die. Idek.
It's going to be a very stressful week, is my point here! I will let you all know about Mom as soon as I can. And I hope you all have good weeks!
