Ever been trapped somewhere that you can't get out of and everything is pounding, pounding and shaking and you can't get out? Chris Carter really was one of the first creators/producers who wasn't just good to his fans, but who was consciously thinking of them when he was working on the show. (wasn't one of the end credit things actually 'trust everyone'? Is that right?)
Mulder was so vulnerable and damaged (and handsome), and Scully so very young.
We just rewatched the pilot on the anniversary date and it blows my mind to see Scully look so young. She was a decade older than me when the show first started and now when I watch the pilot I realize I am older than she is there (Scully being what 28, and Gillian being 25 which is now a decade younger than me at this point).
Looking back, the huge portable phones they pulled out of their trenchcoats were great. I marveled at how Scully was always running around in high heels, and how Mulder's apartment was so small, dark, and rumpled.
Remember the flashback episode to when Mulder first met The Lone Gunmen and he had that huge ridiculous cellphone he was carrying with him? lol And the spoof episode where Tea Lenoi was playing Scully in the movie and Scully has to teach her how to run in those heels? And yeah, I also thought the set decorating for Mulder's apartment was spot-on!
There were episodes I loved, and episodes I hated, but every one was memorable.
AGREED! Some of them I don't rewatch as much as others but I am so glad that I have seen each and every one of them now! Oh, X-Files, we'll always love you.
