Yep, welcome to being stuck at home while the roofers are re-roofing your house. At the ass crack of dawn. Right over your bedroom. Seriously, they’ve been here all day and while I am glad they are pushing through before ( Read more... )

OHMAHGAH IT'S SHOW 1.0! You know I started in XF fandom back in the day and have really never left. It will always be my favorite show EVER (SPN comes a close second) and the characters will have a special place in my heart forever. So some talking points with which to better illustrate! <-- "Bad Blood" reference

My very first fan fic was M/S and written under my real name. It's the only one under my real name (and then I learned how to make up a handle, LOL) It's still on Gossamer.
The internet handle I use now is the first one I created to write XF fic, back in 1998. I've never found a reason to change it
I wrote my first Mulder/Krycek fic under a pseudonym
I posted my first fics to alt.tx.x-files.creative, and got sucked down the hole of fan fic when I got email feedback. So exciting!
I've watched XF since the evening the pilot aired. My brother and I watched it together, and when it was over I turned to him and said, "This is my new show."
I've been to three XF cons and the NYC weekend of the eXpo on Mother's Day, 1998, during which I audio recorded Gillian Anderson's appearance and then wrote out a transcript and shared it online (gone now)
I still mod RATales, which was created in 1999 and devoted to everything Krycek and is still active
I have the original X-Files Barbies of Mulder and Scully
I once traded the Playgirl David Duchovny was in for VHS episodes of his cross-dressing appearance in Twin Peaks
Here is a photo of me from 1998 holding said Playgirl at the eXpo, where you could sit at a desk and there was a green screen behind to make it look like Mulder's office. You can't see my face all that clearly, which is why I'll share it.

And here are photos of my collectibles room I had three apartments ago. All the stuff is now boxed up in my brother's basement. That large poster on the wall is actually the standee from the the first movie, and all the stuff on the walls are XF magazines I have collected over the years that I mylar bagged and taped to the walls.

And here is a photo from my action figure days, where I took the Sideshow Collectibles Mulder and Krycek, dressed them up in different clothes, and bought them scale motorcycles. LOL, it looks crazy when I see it now...

I might have even created a couple of storylines in which I went into my backyard and took photos of these action figures doing stuff and wrote stories around them *coff* It sounds insane when I type it out. Oh dear.

So, um, yeah, slightly obsessed.

OHMAHGAH IT'S SHOW 1.0!

LOL You know, I put this post up and then I patiently sat back and waited for your reaction!! I knew you'd flip your lid, bb!

You know I started in XF fandom back in the day and have really never left. It will always be my favorite show EVER

It deserves to be your favorite show ever, but also I think we always hold a special place in our hearts for that first show that made us sit up and say, "This is giving me hardcore feelings about things!"

My very first fan fic was M/S and written under my real name. It's the only one under my real name (and then I learned how to make up a handle, LOL) It's still on Gossamer.

Were you in college or high school when this took place? Just curious. Someone else pointed out to me that gossamer is still there and I was bowled over. Idk that!

The internet handle I use now is the first one I created to write XF fic, back in 1998. I've never found a reason to change it

It's a great handle!! I had to tweak mine just a little because The Artful Dodger was already a livejournal name.

I posted my first fics to alt.tx.x-files.creative

OMG, the nostalgia that name just sent flaring through my body!!

I've watched XF since the evening the pilot aired. My brother and I watched it together, and when it was over I turned to him and said, "This is my new show."

LOL I can't even remember how I got started watching this show, but my sister tells about being home for Thanksgiving and they were rerunning Tooms and she watched it with my older brother and they were both like, "What the hell is this we are watching" and she continued watching it from then on. But I know I watched during the first season so my brother must have conned me into watching with him when sis went back to college. I specifically remember watching season two in my room in the dark and often being freaked out!

I have the original X-Files Barbies of Mulder and Scully

DUDE. DUDE. I have never seen those before! In fact, your entire collection of X-File stuff and the way you had it all displayed is glorious!!! I am in awe of it all!!

Here is a photo of me from 1998 holding said Playgirl at the eXpo, where you could sit at a desk and there was a green screen behind to make it look like Mulder's office.

I am so fucking jealous, OMG, it looks like you are in the office!!!!

I took the Sideshow Collectibles Mulder and Krycek, dressed them up in different clothes, and bought them scale motorcycles. LOL, it looks crazy when I see it now...

No, no, it's AWESOME!! OMG, that's the greatest thing ever!!! You are a genius!!

I might have even created a couple of storylines in which I went into my backyard and took photos of these action figures doing stuff and wrote stories around them *coff* It sounds insane when I type it out. Oh dear.

Nope. Not. Even. A Little. My sister and The BFF made a movie of a SPN fanfic using Star Wars action figures over the course of a three day weekend once, in our backyard, in 100 degree heat. Then they spent days editing it. And making a DVD. Your thing sounds perfectly normal.

THE X-FILES WILL NEVER BE CLOSED!!!!!!
