Well, we're that much further North now that shorts and sandals are but a memory. After 6 days/nights of rain, one night of which had us sheltered under an overpass with 3 other cars, as we couldn't see the road.
On our last day in N.C. we visited Vollis Simpson Whirligig Park, which is being built and should be finished next year. We got an in-depth tour at the warehouse where the 'gigs are refinished/remade.
Vollis; he worked until he died in 2013 at the age of 94.
