I hate thinking of what to put as my subject line on this thing.
I really have no idea if there is a single person who ever reads this since I hardly ever put anything up, but whatever.
So I have to move. As in, a week ago we came home to an answering machine that said "Unfortunately the owner of your house has decided to sell it, immediately. You have 30 days to vacate". Now normally, this would be inconvenient but nothing tragic, but since we have 3 animals/children it makes finding a new home a bit more tricky and we were feeling a little panicky like maybe we would have to live in a tent in someone's backyard. However, luck was with us and we managed to find a nice place to live that's in a great location. The only downside is that it's a bit smaller than our house now with less of a yard, but the condition of the house is an improvement so, you can't be too choosy. And we'll live by our favorite park and all of our favorite dog-hiking trails now.
All of this means we are now frantically packing, moving, cleaning, switching over all the utilities, and complaining about all of those things all at once. It happens to fall on a week where I have tons of extra stuff to do at work. It's crappy. Somehow I managed to motivate myself to post to my livejournal, how interesting.
If you own your home, be thankful. You are very lucky. This whole escapade has really made me contemplate ways to achieve home ownership. Maybe I could purchase an acre and dig a cave? Like a bear? I do like to sleep and eat and smell the earth. Hmmm.
