And finally: SNOW DAY!!
Snow day! The National Weather Service was pretty much right on with everything but the timing. The major winter storm can early and trapped us at work. Then the car's windshield wipers stopped working, blizzard snow, slushy-slick, no-purchase streets. I got the car pulled over in a church parking lot (our friend is the minister, and he was alright with it's being there for the night or two), and my boss drove over from the school and loaned us his fwd Honda. Nothing like driving a new, strange car (which belongs to your boss) for the first time in blizzard conditions while cars are spinning out all over, around you. Very exciting.
Then Sam's up at the crack of morning, with her sled in 30-40 mile an hour winds, trying to get the sled to work. And it doesn't. And she wants to go in the street, and we nix that. So I got the back hoe out and built her a sledding ramp and we all sledded.
Love that backhoe.

I couldn't sled without 'interference' from the side-lines. Most times she'd catch me and run over me and then make sure I was AlllllllRiiiiiiight. Funny, my other pitbull, Deuce, used to do the same thing when we went sledding at the park in Missouri.
She caught me.
See, it's all about technique. You have to hold the lightweight board, keep the wind from ripping it out of your hands, as you race to the back side of the snow ramp, and then throw the board on and leap on, In my case you have to do this and then try to dodge the dog.
