Summary: After the argument in Dependent, Olivia goes to the morgue and tries to get Melinda back with her.

As Melinda finishes her diction of the autopsy on the victim Ryan Bedford, Olivia appears in the doorway. Melinda looks up at her.
“Olivia, I can't talk to you about this,” she says as she turns off her dicta-phone.
Taking a deep breath, Olivia sighs. “I know.”
Melinda walks over to her and takes her hand into hers. “I know that you want to exonerate Elliot and so do I, but my ruling is homicide. I'm sorry.”
“But Melinda, you know Elliot. You know he could never hurt anyone,” presses the detective.
“I know that, Olivia ... I'm sorry,” Melinda replies somberly.
“Are you really sorry?” Olivia smirks.
“Yes,” the M.E. whispers into her ear.
Olivia whispers back, “Tell me how sorry.”
“This sorry.” Melinda moves closer to Olivia and gently plants a passionate kiss upon her lips. Slowly, Olivia returns the kiss with equal intensity, Melinda holding her close. The brunette detective mirrors Melinda's movements. After a few minutes they pause for air, both breathing heavily, and each step back smiling at each other.
“You know, that the best kiss ever,” Melinda mutters.
“Ever”? Olivia repeats.
The M.E. explains: “I mean that I've had in a while, since you've been gone. I missed that.”
“I missed it, too. And you as well.” agreed the brunette.
“I missed you, too. I'm so glad you're back.”
“Me too.”
Melinda leans over to Olivia and takes her in her arms and holds her, whispering loving words into the other woman's ear. She sways with Olivia, who has returned the embrace. With a content sigh, the detective glances up at Melinda and caresses her cheek. “You know I love you don't you?” Melinda asked.
“Yes, I do,” Olivia affirms. “I love you, too.” They gaze at each other for a moment; Olivia cups Melinda's face and pulls her close as they kiss, showing their love.
