For my birthday Edward took me out and I shopped till I dropped... for clothes for Annika! We got:

  • A POP snowsuit
  • Three long-sleeved shirts/onesies
  • Three thick sweaters
  • One sleepsuit
  • Three very cute pairs of pants suitable for winter

bugga ♥, annika bea & mommy stuff, svenska (my version)

Ouch! A POP snowsuit?!!! EXPENSIVE!!! The quality is good, though, but since you can't get them here, we are Reima people. *thinks* Or rather OTHER Finnish brand name people, stuff you can't get over there (in case Rasavil ever lands there, that's the best possible snow gear there is!).

Since we are complete newbies at dressing up kids for winter we decided that an expensive snowsuit is ok if we're assured of its quality - later on when I know what's effective and what isn't, I'm sure I'll go for cheaper alternatives!

Will keep an eye out for Rasavil stuff, thanks for the tip! :)

Yeah, it is a bit of a problem: some brands cost an awful lot but they are still bad. Like some of the ReimaTec stuff: the price is outrageous and even if they are supposed to be wind and waterproof, it doesn't matter at all since the fabric is so thin that a crawling kid will get holes in the knees in no time at all, and there's no way at all to patch them! So, if the kid is the crawling sort (read: Katrina), then it's better to get the sturdy, heavy, non-waterproof enstex overalls instead of the flimsy waterproof sort ( ... )

Uh-oh, I hope the POP snowsuit will withstand Annika's crawling or else we may have to buy kneepads - we DO NOT have money for another snowsuit :D still need mittens, socks, and boots, will make sure to check cleaning instructions before making any purchases. I just hope some of this stuff still fits her next winter. What are the chances of that happening? *shakes head*

The POP suit will definitely last until next year; small children don't crawl outside that much. It gets bad when they grow a bit older. Katrina was at her worst when she was six and she was playing DOGS all the time (read: on her hands and knees for hours on end!). The size is most likely too small for the winter after this, especially these days when "winter" seems to start in late December or January instead of November like it used to ( ... )
