Regal Shocker

This afternoon Edward and I went on our first official no-baby date in months. We went to the mall near his university, so that he could show me around. He also made an appointment at the optical boutique to get his eyes checked and glasses made, because he's near-sighted and has been having trouble reading the board during classes. On the way there he warned me that it could possibly cost up to 2,300 SEK (1 SEK = 7 PHP). OK, fine.

When we got there he did the standard eye exams while I checked out the available frames. Since Edward has a roundish face, I thought the square and rectangular frames would suit him better. There were some which were pretty affordable (but not by Philippine standards :P) at 595 SEK and some nice titanium ones for around 2,000 SEK. When Edward was done with his tests he tried on the frames and the inexpensive ones were a bit tight since his face is wide at the temples, so he settled on a nice silvery Calvin Klein pair worth 1,800+ SEK.

THEN he went to the cashier to pay for his frame and lenses. The checkup was free BUT the lenses were 980 SEK EACH. The total bill was 3,800 SEK. I just about died of shock. THE GOOD NEWS? Since Edward's a student he has a student discount of 10%, which brought the bill down to 3,500 SEK (about 24,000 PHP). Hip hip? Hooray!
