Random movie reviews

How do you choose what movie to watch? I confess that my primary selection criteria is if I like the actors in the movie. The two most recent new movies we watched were Waitress (because I love Keri Russell) and Hairspray (if you think I watched it to see John Travolta in drag or Michelle Pfeiffer as a former beauty queen, you're wrong.... I actually watched it for Amanda Bynes! hehe)

Anyway, these two movies did not disappoint. Hairspray is just fun all throughout and will make you wanna get up and dance (
bochie did dance to some of the more lively songs, but ignored the rest of the movie).

Waitress is an adorable story about a woman who was planning to run away from her bad marriage, when she suddenly got pregnant. And it's unfair how anybody can be as beautiful and talented as Ms. Keri Russell. Did you know that when J.J. Abrams was casting Felicity, he was looking for a plain Jane so when the very pretty Keri Russell came in, they were ready to dismiss her because of her looks? But then she did the audition and nailed the part, and the rest is history.

We also re-watched The Princess Bride last night, and while it's really funny, I still prefer Cary Elwes in Robin Hood: Men in Tights. Maybe this just shows how mababaw my sense of humor is, but I think Men in Tights is a classic and one of the funniest movies of all time - it's right up there with Monty Python and the Holy Grail. :P
