The Binghamton Morris Men have for the first time in recorded history (recorded by me, anyway) held two practices a week apart, yesterday and Sunday of last week, but that's not enough, oh no. Next up: Two practices in the same week. (The space isn't available this Sunday, so we're doing it Saturday.) Historic! Seems we're adopting something like the schedule of the Old Dead Guys of the 19th century South Midlands -- practice a lot for a few weeks in the spring, then hang it up until the following year.
In the three practices we've had so far (I missed the second), we've covered seven Ducklington dances: Boys of the Bunch, Princess Royal, Jockey to the Fair, The Fox, Old Tyler, The Nutting Girl, and Maid of the Mill. Peter's talking about running through more. We won't necessarily perform all of these but it's good to get the exposure to them, and have plenty to choose performance repertoire from.
