Nu Who Meta: how does Martha relate to her family?
Martha Jones is the only one of the Tenth Doctor's companions with a traditional nuclear family. How do you think her relationship with the various members of her family influenced her as a character? How do you think her relationship with them changed during their enslavement to the Master in The Sound of Drums/Last of the Time Lords? Do you think she was any closer to them after season 3? Do you believe her statement to the Tenth Doctor that intends to stay on Earth "to look after" her family, or do you think that her travels with UNIT, Torchwood and as a freelancer contradict this?
