I have really mixed feelings about a return of old Doctors.

First, I think it would really stretch credulity for them not to look the way they did at the time, and that's just life that they do not. Actors are human unlike Time Lords!

I would love to see Four through Ten in some kind of interesting parade but how to make that happen? Maybe in voiceovers? So many of them are active in the Big Finish -- especially McGann, who has done tons of audio adventures with lots of different companions.

Using CGI to bring them in sounds expensive and also might doom the show to terrible cheesiness.

Also, sad to say, my absolute favorite is Nine, and Eccleston has been very adamant against returning, which I think is very sad.

My top hope / pipe dream for a 50th would be some elucidation on the Time War, and it would involve Eight, Nine, and Ten in major roles with Eleven as the main Doctor, and voiceover /CGI cameos from the remaining Doctors Four through Seven (and even One through Three if they could muster appropriate clips. I'd love to see a whole time crash story focusing on how the Doctor threw Gallifrey out of Time - involving how he did it with the help of his multiple incarnations.

How's that for a pipe dream? It would increase continuity between old and New Who and involve EVERYONE. IDEAL RIGHT???

I subscribe to your pipe dream! I would love something that reflected the Time War. Moffat is quite fond of special effects so perhaps CGI or something using clips is not out of the question?
