The addition of Mary Tamm, who recently passed away, as Romana to the series was the first time we saw the Doctor in long-term contact with one of his own people, someone who was just as brilliant and capable as he was (and did better in her education, apparently). How did this shift the dynamic of the show from the Doctor's previous companions and if she had chosen to remain for more than one series, how do you think it would have changed the stories that followed The Key to Time arc?
