I loved this episode! I will definitely miss Missy and Bill.
And Missy turned out good in the end? She said we should stand with the Doctor. Do you think 12 helped her to change good?
And the FEELS! The Doctor quoting 10 and 11 I don't want to go....when the Doctor was me! And the Doctor seeing all the companions and HE SAW CLARA. He remembered Clara. Huzzah! I'm not a huge Clara fan but that was incredibly sad he had no memory of her.
I can't wait to see the First and Twelfth Doctor together in the Christmas episode. I will NOT be looking forward to 12 regenerating. He really is my fave Doctor. He's incredible in the role.
I completely forgot that the Doctor wasn't supposed to remember Clara. Now I wonder if that was just an oversight by the writers or if they included it deliberately.
I feel that Bill's resolution was too similar to Clara's - cheating death to travel the universe as a quasi-immortal as an adventurer in her own right with a female companion by her side. It was the only aspect of this episode I felt really jarred.
I'm sure Bill and her watery friend will encounter Clara and Ashildr/Me on their travels.
Allegedly Coleman is back for the Christmas Special according to a radio host though the BBC denies any announcement (didn't directly deny the fact, just the announcement). That said Clara reappearing would strike me as a minus 12 on the 1 to 10 surprise scale
If so, I hope it's just a brief flashback kind of thing. We still haven't seen "No, sir, all thirteen!" from Twelve's perspective, so maybe if it were something along those lines, Clara would be involved somehow?
I suspect it'll be more like Gillan's "Raggedy Man, Good night" from Smith's finale, but who knows?
While I've never had strong feelings about Clara, Coleman's notorious for not really being able to make up her mind on the stay or go question and definitely has a fondness and affinity for the program.
Yes you're correct it's too close to Clara's ending. They both died and got to travel the universe. When was the last time a companion really died?
I'm not counting Rory and Amy since they died of old age and lived out their lives.
Wasn't there a young male companion in classic who? I can't remember his name......
Even though Bill's ending was like Clara's I am SO GLAD she's not a Cyberman. That would have been awful. And I'm sure the Doctor didn't want to regenerate and he's angry because he couldn't keep his promise to Bill that he would help her....
