With that costume? There are multiple ethnic minorities who could have been represented by the new companion. But they went with a black women. Of course it's great that they chose a black woman rather than a white middle class one, but why not branch out?

Well yeah, and her speech patterns in the clip sound decidedly modern-day London too. But I'm trying to be hopeful.

Heh, can you imagine the Daily Mail ragings if they'd cast an Asian Moslem woman? :)
