I've noticed that with all the compliments and analysis of The Day of the Doctor, few people have mentioned the director of the episode. Actually, I usually don't notice who the director is, and it seems they get way less talk than the actors, writers and showrunner. But after watching "The Day of the Doctor" and looking at the other episodes he directed (The Angels Take Manhattan, Asylum of the Daleks, The God Complex, and The Girl Who Waited), I think we have to say that the success of the episode has a lot to do with him.
(I know that not all of those episodes are people's favorites, I thought that TATM was a mess, but I like the other three and I don't think that direction was the fault of TATM).
