it's an interesting idea, but i think it's a bit of a stretch based on the information that we've already been getting. like, even though the Moff series has a lot of twists and mysteries and unanswered questions, usually he plants clues to make those things resolve later as opposed to pulling something completely out of the blue. i think it's more likely that the TARDIS is having problems trying to scan a baby that is part-Silent.

"trousers of time". :D

^^ I've no doubt I'm probably wrong, just really bothered by how her transmiter is still picking up her voice (...perhaps I missed an explanation?) especially since everyone else made such a big deal of talking into their palms.

Whatever the explanation is, I'm sure it will boggle my mind *g*

oh i see.

when they find the transmitter on the ground, the doctor says something about how it defaults to live events when it's removed. they don't really explain *why*, but he does say something when he first pricks people with it about how it connects telepathically to the speech centers of your brain.

(the transmitters, by the way, were a little shaky in their execution. When the doctor is demonstrating it, he activates it to record, and then when he's done recording he presses it again and it immediately plays back. so there's no stop button? but there has to be because otherwise it wouldn't flash because it already played the message. and what happens to previous messages? the mechanic of the transmitter is confusing and flawed, and oddly enough that kind of makes it switching to Live Amy via telepathy okay with me because the concept is flawed already, so it can't break much worse. :) )

I got echoes of silence in the library with the still transmitting recorder, I was half expecting him to say 'She's a data-ghost foot prints in the sand and the tides coming in'

I hadn't thought about it from the transmitter angle but I think there may be two Amy's. I'm not sure how it all fits together yet but I think there may be two time streams going on, with alternative versions of the characters. What if the orphanage exists in those two time streams? And when Dr Renfrew says to Amy and Canton that he's looking after "the girl, she's important", he's talking about Amy not the little girl, and one version of Amy is being cared for in there (eg, the little girl's room is Amy's room), and that vision of the woman with the eye patch is a glimpse into that time stream. Also, someone pointed out that Amy's house has two storeys on the outside but three inside (check out the staircases in Eleventh Hour), so what if there's always been a 'lodger tardis' on top of her home? It twists my brain and I'm not sure how it all fits together but if we accept two timestreams, then possibly the future doctor could be alternative reality doctor and the 'real' doctor was in the space suit??? This is all wild speculation of ( ... )

the orphanage in two time streams - yes. Ii was wondering about the "it's 1967 - no ,it's 1969" dialogue. We're told that it's because the Silents/ce have messed up his mind - but suppose that the building/Amy's situation is in some way cycling through differetn timeleines - wouldn't there be just that sort of confusion?

o_0 If the orphanage really is waffling between 67 and 69 it would certainly provide enough time for the Silents(ce) to muck about with Amy(s) pregnancy/ies.

I posted a similar theory a couple days ago. Her pregnancy is from an alternate timeline. Because she has the ability to call things back from other timelines, she can decide whether to make it real or not. The reason the scanner is flip-flopping is that Amy isn't sure if she wants kids or not so the existence of the fetus keeps flip-flopping.
