Happy birthday!
I'm glad that you had a union rep to go to for your work. I remember seeing you talk about it on Twitter(?) and I hope your manager stops being a jackass. Coolers must be hard to work in for an extended period of time, but I will keep my fingers crossed that you get to stay there instead of going back to the registers.
Yay for successful surgeries! And boo for bad fiances. :/ I hope that she gets everything sorted out as smoothly as possible and he doesn't try to take a lot from her.
